In what year did the British boy band Take That form in Manchester?

The story behind the answer

The British boy band Take That formed in Manchester in 1990.

The original lineup consisted of Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, Mark Owen, Jason Orange and Robbie Williams. The group was assembled by Nigel Martin-Smith and initially performed in clubs before securing a recording contract.

Take That’s first single, “Do What U Like,” was released in 1991. The group later became one of the United Kingdom’s most successful acts of the 1990s, with hits including “Pray,” “Relight My Fire” and “Back for Good.”

Robbie Williams left the group in 1995, and Take That initially disbanded in 1996. The band reunited without Williams in 2005, later continuing with changing lineups and returning to major chart success.
