Taylor Swift first performed “august” on the Eras Tour in 2023.
The Eras Tour began in March 2023 and celebrated material from across Swift’s career, including Folklore. “august” became part of the show’s Folklore segment, where Swift performed several songs from the album in a woodland, cottage-inspired setting.
The tour continued through 2024, which can make the year of the song’s first Eras Tour performances easy to misremember. The relevant distinction is between the tour’s overall date range and the year it began featuring the song.
The Eras Tour was Swift’s sixth headlining concert tour. It became one of the largest concert tours ever mounted and generated a concert film, but the song’s first appearance on that tour occurred in 2023.
