Kylie Jenner launched Kylie Cosmetics in 2015.
The company began with Kylie Lip Kits, a set pairing liquid lipstick with matching lip liner. The first products became known for selling out rapidly online, helping establish Jenner as a major force in the beauty market. The business later expanded into eyeshadows, blushes, highlighters, skincare, and other cosmetics.
Kylie Cosmetics was initially developed with businesswoman and mother Kris Jenner, who helped manage the commercial side of the brand. Coty acquired a 51 percent stake in the company in 2019, valuing Kylie Cosmetics at approximately $1.2 billion.
The brand is sometimes confused with Kylie Skin, which Jenner launched in 2019 as a separate skincare line. Kylie Cosmetics also went through product reformulation and relaunches, so the current product range is not identical to the original Kylie Lip Kit launch. The key date is 2015, when the cosmetics business first entered the market.
