In what year did Ferrero Rocher first appear?
Answer
1982
Answer
1982
Ferrero Rocher first appeared in 1982.
The confection was created by Michele Ferrero for the Italian company Ferrero. Its design combines several textures: a whole hazelnut centre, a smooth hazelnut filling, a crisp wafer, and an outer coating containing chocolate and chopped hazelnuts. The gold foil and individual paper cup helped position it as a premium gift confection.
The product joined a Ferrero portfolio that already included important hazelnut-based foods, including Nutella. Ferrero Rocher was later marketed in many countries and became strongly associated with celebrations, hospitality, and boxed chocolate gifts.
The year can be confused with the launch dates of other Ferrero products. Nutella’s modern form dates from 1964, while Ferrero Rocher came considerably later. The product’s name is also sometimes treated as though it describes a chocolate variety; it is actually the brand name of a particular filled confection.
