Bob Marley and the Wailers performed at London’s Lyceum Theatre in 1975.
The concerts took place in July 1975 during the band’s Natty Dread Tour. Recordings from the performances were released as Live!, an album that captured Marley’s growing international reputation and energetic concert style.
The album includes a celebrated performance of “No Woman, No Cry.” Although the song had appeared earlier in the studio, the live version became especially important to Marley’s public identity and was later issued as a single in several markets.
The Lyceum shows are sometimes dated incorrectly because Marley’s biggest commercial breakthroughs continued in the following years. The performances actually belong to 1975, shortly after the release of Natty Dread and before the albums Rastaman Vibration and Exodus.
