Sam Flynn is the son of Kevin Flynn, the computer programmer who disappeared into the digital world known as the Grid. After receiving a mysterious message from his father’s old arcade, Sam enters the Grid and becomes involved in a conflict involving Kevin, the program Clu, and the system’s evolving digital society.
Garrett Hedlund plays Sam Flynn, while Jeff Bridges plays both Kevin Flynn and the digital program Clu. Tron: Legacy was directed by Joseph Kosinski and released in 2010 as a sequel to the 1982 film Tron.
Sam is sometimes confused with Clu because both are connected to Kevin Flynn and the Grid. They are different characters: Sam is human, while Clu is a computer-generated program modeled on Kevin’s appearance.
