In The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011), Lisbeth Salander uses the hacking alias Wasp.
Lisbeth is a gifted computer hacker and investigator who assists journalist Mikael Blomkvist in examining the disappearance of Harriet Vanger. Her online identity reflects both her technical ability and her solitary, guarded personality.
The alias is sometimes confused with the film’s title imagery. Lisbeth’s dragon tattoo is her most visible symbol, but Dragon is not her hacker name. Wasp is the specific handle associated with her digital work.
David Fincher directed the 2011 English-language adaptation, which stars Rooney Mara as Lisbeth and Daniel Craig as Blomkvist. The film is based on Stieg Larsson’s 2005 Swedish novel, previously adapted into the Swedish film The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo in 2009.
