In Tron (1982), what is the name of Kevin Flynn’s computer program identity?

The story behind the answer

In Tron (1982), Kevin Flynn’s computer program identity is Clu.

Clu is a program created by Flynn to investigate the theft of Flynn’s video-game designs and evidence that software executive Ed Dillinger has taken credit for them. Flynn’s identity is transported into the electronic world after the MCP digitizes him.

Jeff Bridges plays both Kevin Flynn and Clu. Inside the computer system, Clu resembles Flynn but functions as an independent program with a mission to uncover information.

Clu is not the same character as Tron, the security program played by Bruce Boxleitner. Tron serves Alan Bradley and fights against the MCP, while Clu represents Flynn within the digital world.
