In The Worst Witch, what is the name of Mildred Hubble’s school for witches?

In The Worst Witch, Mildred Hubble attends Cackle’s Academy.

Cackle’s Academy is the boarding school for witches in Jill Murphy’s children’s book series. Mildred is a well-meaning but accident-prone student who regularly gets into trouble while learning magic, flying, and the traditions of witchcraft.

The school is led by Miss Cackle, whose kindness contrasts with the hostility of her sister, Miss Hardbroom. Mildred’s classmates include Maud Spellbody and Ethel Hallow, and their relationships drive many of the school stories.

The first book, The Worst Witch, was published in 1974. The setting has appeared in television adaptations, including a 1998 series and a later series that began in 2017. Cackle’s Academy is sometimes confused with Miss Cackle herself, but the former is the school and the latter is its headmistress.
