In The Terminator (1984), which 1990s film star played Sarah Connor?

The story behind the answer

In The Terminator (1984), Linda Hamilton played Sarah Connor.

Sarah begins the film as an ordinary Los Angeles waitress who becomes the target of a cyborg assassin sent from the future. Kyle Reese arrives to protect her and explains that her future son, John Connor, will lead humanity’s resistance against the machines.

Hamilton returned as Sarah in Terminator 2: Judgment Day, released in 1991. That sequel presents her as a physically trained and determined protector, a much more hardened version of the character seen in the first film.

The role is sometimes associated with the franchise’s other major star, Arnold Schwarzenegger, who played the Terminator. Michael Biehn played Reese. Hamilton’s later 1990s film appearances included Dante’s Peak in 1997, but Sarah Connor remained her defining screen role.
