Paris becomes the city where Belly stays abroad in The Summer I Turned Pretty season 3.
After her wedding to Jeremiah is called off, Belly travels to Paris. She initially expects to join an exchange program, but discovers that there is no room for her. Rather than immediately returning home, she remains in the city, takes two jobs, and continues her college classes online.
Belly later decides to stay in Paris for another year after a friend offers her an apartment. Taylor visits her there for New Year’s, and the city becomes the setting for Belly’s independence and eventual reunion with Conrad.
Paris is distinct from Brussels, where Conrad is traveling for a conference when he visits Belly in the finale. San Francisco is connected to Steven and Taylor’s future plans, while New York is only a location for other season 3 events.
