In The Sims 4, the four original aspiration categories are Love, Deviance, Fortune, and Knowledge.

These categories organize the game’s early aspiration tracks around broad life goals. Love focuses on romance and relationships, Deviance on mischievous or criminal behavior, Fortune on wealth and career success, and Knowledge on learning, skills, and intellectual pursuits.

The categories are easy to confuse with individual aspirations or traits. For example, Serial Romantic is a Love aspiration, while Fabulously Wealthy belongs to Fortune; the category is the wider grouping, not the name of a specific goal. Likewise, Family and Creativity are familiar aspiration themes in The Sims series, but they are not part of this original four-category set.

The Sims 4 launched in 2014, and its aspiration system lets Sims pursue milestones for Satisfaction points and reward traits.
