In the original Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, which single-player mode has no time limit?

The story behind the answer

In the original Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, Free Skate is the single-player mode with no time limit.

Free Skate gives players an open-ended version of the game's levels, with no objective list or countdown forcing the run to end. It is designed for exploration and practice: players can learn a stage's ramps, rails, gaps, and hidden routes without the pressure of completing goals within a fixed session.

That makes it different from Single Session, which is also free-form but limits the player to two minutes while pursuing a high score. Career Mode likewise uses two-minute runs, although its objectives—such as collecting the letters in “SKATE,” reaching target scores, and finding hidden items—carry progress from one attempt to the next.

Free Skate is therefore not simply another name for Single Session. The original game’s structure deliberately separates relaxed practice from timed scoring and objective-based progression. The mode also became a regular part of later Tony Hawk games, where free-roaming practice remained one of the series’ most accessible activities.
