In the original Assassin's Creed, what rank does Altaïr regain after being demoted?
Answer
Master Assassin
Answer
Master Assassin
In the original Assassin's Creed, Altaïr regains the rank of Master Assassin after being demoted.
At the beginning of the game, Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad is an accomplished Assassin whose failure during a mission causes Al Mualim to strip him of his rank and equipment. He must then complete a sequence of assassination missions in the Holy Land, gradually recovering his abilities and status within the Brotherhood.
The demotion is a major part of the game's opening structure: it gives the player a reason to relearn core mechanics while giving Altaïr a personal path of discipline and accountability. Master Assassin is not the same as Mentor, the title held by Al Mualim during much of the story, and it is also distinct from the Templar title Grand Master.
