In the original Assassin's Creed, what is the full name of the playable Assassin?

The story behind the answer

The playable Assassin in the original Assassin's Creed is Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad.

Altaïr is a Syrian Assassin active during the Third Crusade, around 1191. The game follows his fall from grace after a failed mission, followed by a gradual restoration of his rank as he investigates targets across the Holy Land. His name means “The Flying One, Son of No One” in Arabic transliteration.

Altaïr is not the same person as Desmond Miles, the modern-day character who experiences Altaïr's memories through the Animus. He is also distinct from Ezio Auditore, the Renaissance Italian Assassin who stars in several later games. Altaïr's story continues in Assassin's Creed: Revelations, where his life and legacy become central to Ezio's final main adventure.

The character was voiced by Philip Shahbas in the original game. Later appearances and updated versions use different voice performances, but the historical identity remains the same.
