In the original Assassin's Creed game, what is the first name of the Assassin protagonist from Masyaf?

The story behind the answer

The Assassin's Creed protagonist from Masyaf in the original game is Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad.

Altaïr is a senior Assassin operating in the Holy Land during the Third Crusade. After a failed mission in Solomon's Temple, his rank and equipment are taken away by his mentor, Al Mualim. Altaïr must then eliminate a series of targets while gradually uncovering a wider political conspiracy.

The character's full name is Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad, which is commonly translated as “Altaïr, son of none.” He is distinct from Ezio Auditore, the Italian Assassin who leads the next major story arc, and from later protagonists such as Connor and Edward Kenway. The game presents Altaïr as a highly skilled but initially overconfident Assassin whose methods change as he learns more about the Order and its enemies.

Assassin's Creed was released in 2007 and established the series' recurring historical-fiction structure, combining real locations and figures with the fictional conflict between Assassins and Templars.
