In "The Matrix", Neo is offered a red pill or a pill of which other color?

The story behind the answer

In “The Matrix,” Neo is offered a red pill or a blue pill. Morpheus presents the choice as a decision between discovering the unsettling truth about the Matrix and returning to the familiar illusion of everyday life. Neo chooses the red pill, allowing the resistance to locate and free his body from the machine-controlled system.

The blue pill therefore represents ignorance, comfort, and a return to the simulated world. The red pill represents knowledge and reality, although the film makes clear that reality is harsh: Neo awakens in a pod, connected to machinery and surrounded by countless other humans being used by the machines.

The scene draws on ideas about reality, perception, and philosophical skepticism, while also using imagery from Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Morpheus refers to following the “white rabbit” and seeing how deep the rabbit hole goes. A common mix-up is to remember only the red pill because it became the famous cultural symbol; the other pill is specifically blue.
