In the Halo television series, which actor plays Master Chief Petty Officer John-117?

Pablo Schreiber plays Master Chief Petty Officer John-117 in the Halo television series.

The live-action series premiered on Paramount+ in 2022 and adapts characters and concepts from the Halo video-game universe. Schreiber portrays John-117, the augmented supersoldier better known as Master Chief, while also appearing without the character’s helmet in parts of the series.

The television adaptation is not a direct scene-for-scene retelling of the games. It follows what the production calls the Silver Timeline, allowing it to use familiar characters and mythology while taking a different narrative route from the established game continuity.

Pedro Pascal is sometimes suggested because he plays another famous helmeted science-fiction protagonist, Din Djarin in The Mandalorian. That resemblance creates a common mix-up, but Schreiber is the actor credited as Master Chief in Halo.
