The Corleone family’s longtime enforcer in The Godfather is Luca Brasi.
Luca Brasi is introduced as one of Don Vito Corleone’s most feared and loyal followers. His imposing reputation is emphasized during the wedding sequence, when he nervously rehearses his respectful greeting to Vito before approaching the Don.
Brasi is sent to investigate Sollozzo’s apparent interest in the Corleone family. He is then murdered by Bruno Tattaglia, helping expose the scale of the threat facing Vito. His death also demonstrates that the rival organization has infiltrated the Corleone operation.
Luca Brasi is distinct from Al Neri and Rocco Lampone, who become important enforcers later in the story. Lenny Montana played Brasi in the film.
