In The Godfather, Luca Brasi’s employer is Vito Corleone. Luca is one of Don Vito’s most feared and loyal enforcers, and he works directly for the Corleone family.
Luca Brasi is introduced at Connie’s wedding, where he nervously rehearses his congratulations to the Don. His reputation is so intimidating that even other gangsters fear him. Vito uses Luca as a formidable protector and operative, especially during the conflict involving Virgil Sollozzo and the Tattaglia family.
Luca is later sent to meet Sollozzo while secretly gathering information. The meeting is a trap, and Luca is strangled with a piano wire. The scene establishes the seriousness of the threat facing Vito and demonstrates that the rival alliance is willing to eliminate even the Don’s most dangerous loyalist.
