In the flash-forward finale of "Parks and Recreation", what office does Garry (Jerry) Gergich hold for many years?

The story behind the answer

In the flash-forward finale of “Parks and Recreation,” Garry “Jerry” Gergich is shown serving for many years as mayor of Pawnee.

Jerry’s political future is one of the show’s most affectionate reversals. Throughout the series, coworkers repeatedly mock him, misremember his name, and treat him as the department’s perennial accident-prone employee. Despite that workplace reputation, Jerry has a happy family life and is consistently depicted as kind, dependable, and well liked outside the office.

Near the end of the series, Garry becomes mayor after the previous mayor dies. The finale then jumps through later periods of his life, revealing that he is elected repeatedly and serves as Pawnee’s mayor for decades. He eventually retires and dies peacefully at the age of 100.

The character’s name is itself a recurring joke: his real first name is Garry, but a senior city employee once called him Jerry, and he was too uncomfortable to correct the mistake. Later characters also call him Larry and Terry.
