In the first Assassin's Creed game, released in 2007, which Assassin does the player control?
Answer
Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad
Answer
Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad
The player controls Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad in the first Assassin's Creed game, released in 2007.
Altaïr is a Syrian Assassin and the central historical character of the original game. The story follows his fall from rank after a failed mission, followed by his effort to regain the Brotherhood's trust by completing a series of assassinations in the Holy Land.
The game visits cities including Masyaf, Jerusalem, Acre, and Damascus. Its modern-day sections introduce Desmond Miles, whose genetic memories are accessed through the Animus. This structure became a defining feature of the series.
Altaïr is sometimes confused with Ezio Auditore, the protagonist of Assassin's Creed II and its two major follow-ups. Altaïr also appears in later franchise stories, but he is the playable Assassin at the center of the first main game.
