In The Fifth Estate (2013), which website does Julian Assange found?

In The Fifth Estate (2013), Julian Assange founds WikiLeaks.

The film dramatizes the relationship between Assange, played by Benedict Cumberbatch, and Daniel Domscheit-Berg, played by Daniel Brühl. WikiLeaks is presented as a platform for publishing confidential material supplied by sources, with the aim of exposing secrecy and misconduct. The story focuses especially on the publication of classified United States diplomatic cables and military documents.

The title refers to the idea of a new information force beyond the traditional branches of government and the established press. The movie is based on books by Domscheit-Berg and David Leigh and Luke Harding, but it is not a neutral documentary. Assange criticized the film and disputed aspects of its portrayal.

WikiLeaks was founded in 2006. The organization and its publications became globally prominent after releases in 2010, including material related to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and United States diplomatic cables.
