In the “Bourne” films, Jason Bourne’s real birth name is David Webb. The revelation separates Bourne’s constructed identity as a CIA operative from the person he was before entering the Treadstone program.
The name is disclosed near the end of The Bourne Supremacy (2004), when Pamela Landy tells him his original name and personal details. The mystery is expanded in The Bourne Ultimatum (2007), which shows that Webb volunteered for Treadstone and was transformed into the highly trained assassin known as Jason Bourne. His amnesia makes the discovery a central part of the trilogy’s identity story.
The films use David Webb differently from Robert Ludlum’s novels, but the name is canonical in both versions. In the movie continuity, Webb served in the U.S. military and joined the CIA’s Treadstone program after a personal tragedy involving his father. He later rejects the brutal role created for him and tries to reclaim a life beyond covert operations.
Alexander Conklin and Nicky Parsons are associated with the CIA and Bourne’s past, but neither is his birth identity. Aaron Cross is another operative from the same wider film universe, introduced in The Bourne Legacy.
