Rob Law famously pitched the Trunki ride-on suitcase on the BBC series Dragon's Den.
Law designed Trunki as a child-sized suitcase that could also be ridden through airports and other travel spaces. The product grew from his interest in making travel easier for families, and he developed it through his company, Magmatic.
During his Dragon's Den appearance, Law sought investment for the business but did not agree a deal with the Dragons. The rejection became one of the show's best-known examples of an entrepreneur succeeding after leaving the den without investment.
Trunki later became an internationally recognised travel product and won design awards. A common mix-up is to remember the pitch as a successful deal simply because the product became so prominent; Law's appearance is notable precisely because the Dragons declined to invest.
