In the 2008 film 'Wanted', what is the name of the secret society of assassins?

In Wanted, the secret society of assassins is called the Fraternity. The group recruits and trains killers who believe they maintain balance in the world by eliminating people identified as future sources of evil and chaos.

Wesley Gibson enters the Fraternity after learning that his father, Cross, was one of its members. Under the direction of Mr. Sloan, Wesley undergoes brutal physical and weapons training at the group’s headquarters, a repurposed textile mill.

The Fraternity’s targets supposedly come from the Loom of Fate, a machine that encodes names through deliberate imperfections in its fabric. The film presents this mystical system as the organization’s justification for assassination, though the plot later reveals that Sloan has manipulated the process for his own purposes.

The Fraternity is not the same as the film’s rival-sounding alternatives, such as “The League,” “The Order” or “The Brotherhood.” Those names may fit the general idea of a secret organization, but the film’s canonical name is specifically the Fraternity.
