In the 2002 animated film Return to Never Land, Wendy’s daughter is named Jane.
Jane is the central child character in Disney’s sequel to Peter Pan. The story takes place during World War II, when Jane is skeptical of her mother’s stories about Peter Pan and Neverland. Captain Hook abducts Jane after mistaking her for Wendy, and Peter must help rescue her.
The sequel shifts the focus from Wendy to the next generation. Jane initially rejects imagination and fairy tales, but her experiences in Neverland gradually change her attitude. Her relationship with Peter also mirrors Wendy’s earlier connection with him while remaining a distinct story.
Return to Never Land was released theatrically in 2002. It is sometimes called Peter Pan 2 in informal discussion, but its official title is Return to Never Land.
