In the 2000 film X-Men, Halle Berry plays the mutant Storm.
Storm, whose civilian name is Ororo Munroe, is a member of Professor Xavier’s X-Men. In the film, she can manipulate weather, producing effects such as powerful winds and lightning. Berry’s performance introduced the character to a large mainstream film audience.
Storm is one of Marvel’s best-known mutant characters. She was created by writer Len Wein and artist Dave Cockrum and first appeared in the comic Giant-Size X-Men #1 in 1975. The movie version wears a distinctive white-haired look associated with the character in comics.
Berry reprised the role in several later films, including X2, X-Men: The Last Stand, X-Men: Days of Future Past, and X-Men: Apocalypse. Mystique was played by Rebecca Romijn in the original trilogy, while Rogue was played by Anna Paquin and Jean Grey by Famke Janssen.
