The alien world reached through the gate in the 1994 film Stargate is Abydos.
Stargate is a science-fiction film directed by Roland Emmerich. The story follows Egyptologist Daniel Jackson and Colonel Jonathan “Jack” O’Neil as they use an ancient device to travel to a distant planet. The world, Abydos, has an ancient Egyptian-inspired culture and is ruled by the alien Ra.
The film’s gate is a portal rather than Pandora’s container, but both ideas involve an object that opens access to a hidden or dangerous realm. Stargate later became the basis for television series, including Stargate SG-1, which expanded the mythology and introduced many additional worlds.
Abydos should not be confused with Pandora, the moon in the Avatar franchise, or with fictional planets from other science-fiction series. The answer belongs specifically to the original 1994 film’s destination.
