In the 1982 film Tron, Sark serves as the Master Control Program’s chief enforcer.
Sark is a high-ranking program inside the computer world and acts as the MCP’s military commander. David Warner supplies Sark’s voice, while also voicing the Master Control Program and playing the human programmer Ed Dillinger. The performance helped give the digital world a unified authoritarian presence.
Sark is often confused with other important programs in Tron. Tron is the security program based on Alan Bradley, CLU is Kevin Flynn’s program, and Bit is a small binary-speaking entity encountered by Flynn. These characters occupy different roles within the film’s electronic society.
Tron was released by Walt Disney Productions in 1982. Its visual effects, electronic environments, and concept of people entering a computer system made it a major early science-fiction film about digital identity and computer control.
