In Super Mario 3D Land, what power-up allows Mario to float down slowly?

In Super Mario 3D Land, the Tanooki Suit allows Mario to float down slowly.

Mario obtains the suit through the Super Leaf, a power-up that returns from Super Mario Bros. 3. In 3D Land, the suit gives Mario a tail attack and lets him gently descend after jumping by using the tail’s hovering ability. This makes it useful for crossing wide gaps, reaching platforms, and correcting a jump that would otherwise fall short.

The 3D Land version is deliberately more limited than the original Tanooki Suit. Mario cannot fly freely through the air, and he cannot transform into a statue in the standard form of the suit. A later variant can turn him into a statue after a ground pound, adding a defensive and puzzle-solving ability.

The wrong options belong to other Mario games or item families. The Propeller Suit is associated with New Super Mario Bros. Wii, the Penguin Suit is also from that game, and the Boomerang Suit is not the power-up used for this slow descent.
