In Solo: A Star Wars Story, Lando Calrissian’s female-presenting droid co-pilot is named L3-37.
L3-37 is a self-modified droid who serves as the co-pilot of the Millennium Falcon before Han Solo takes that role. She advocates for droid rights and has altered her own body using parts from other machines. Her outspoken views make her one of the film’s clearest challenges to the way organic characters treat droids.
L3-37 helps the crew during the Kessel Run and becomes important to the Falcon’s navigation systems. After her destruction, her navigational data is integrated into the ship, providing a connection between her character and the Falcon’s later reputation as a fast and capable vessel.
L3-37 is distinct from K-2SO, the reprogrammed security droid in Rogue One, and from Lando’s cape-wearing human identity. The designation uses the letter L, the number 3, a hyphen, and the number 37.
