In “Squid Game,” what is the name of the police officer who infiltrates the game? The answer is Hwang Jun-ho.
Hwang Jun-ho is a South Korean police detective who becomes suspicious after hearing Seong Gi-hun describe the deadly contest. Jun-ho is also searching for his missing half-brother, Hwang In-ho, and discovers evidence suggesting that his brother was connected to the games.
To investigate, Jun-ho stows away on the ferry carrying supplies to the remote game island and disguises himself as a masked guard. He secretly photographs the games, investigates the organization’s records, and tries to send evidence back to police colleagues who remain skeptical. His investigation provides a parallel storyline to Gi-hun’s struggle as a contestant.
Jun-ho is played by Wi Ha-joon. A major twist reveals that the Front Man is actually his brother, In-ho. In the first season, In-ho shoots Jun-ho, sending him over a cliff, but Jun-ho survives. Ali, Sang-woo, and Gi-hun are contestants rather than the police officer investigating the operation.
