In School of Rock, what is the name of the prep school where Dewey Finn poses as a substitute teacher?

The story behind the answer

In School of Rock, Dewey Finn poses as a substitute teacher at Horace Green prep school.

Dewey gets the position after answering a call intended for his roommate, Ned Schneebly. He impersonates Ned and arrives at the prestigious school with little interest in conventional teaching.

After discovering his students’ musical abilities, Dewey secretly organizes them into a rock band. The class learns instruments, songwriting, stagecraft, and performance while pretending to follow the normal school routine.

Horace Green is fictional, but the film used real locations to portray it. Main Hall at Wagner College in Staten Island served as the school’s exterior and interior setting for many scenes. The film was directed by Richard Linklater and released in 2003.
