In Rocky II, which character asks Rocky for a rematch?

The story behind the answer

In Rocky II, which character asks Rocky for a rematch? Apollo Creed asks Rocky for a rematch.

Creed is the reigning world heavyweight champion after defeating Rocky by split decision in the first film. Although the fight was officially a victory for Creed, its closeness leads public opinion to question whether Rocky might have been the better fighter.

Apollo becomes determined to erase that doubt. He demands another bout and uses public taunts, interviews, and humiliation tactics to draw Rocky out of retirement. Rocky initially resists, partly because doctors warn that his detached retina could threaten his eyesight.

The rematch takes place on Thanksgiving 1976. Rocky defeats Creed by knockout in the fifteenth round, becoming the new world heavyweight champion. Mason Dixon belongs to Rocky Balboa, while Clubber Lang is Rocky's opponent in Rocky III.
