In Rick Riordan’s The Lightning Thief, what is the name of Percy Jackson’s mother?

In Rick Riordan’s The Lightning Thief, Percy Jackson’s mother is Sally Jackson.

Sally is Percy’s loving human parent and one of the novel’s most important non-demigod characters. She protects Percy as best she can while concealing difficult truths about his family and the mythological world.

Her marriage to Gabe Ugliano creates much of the unpleasant domestic situation at the beginning of the story. Sally’s ability to tolerate Gabe is connected to the protection his presence unintentionally provides Percy from monsters.

Readers sometimes confuse Sally Jackson with other major women in the series. Annabeth Chase is Percy’s friend and fellow demigod, Clarisse La Rue is a rival camper, and Rachel Dare is a mortal who later becomes important to the plot.
