In Pixar's Cars, which retired racer is known as the Hudson Hornet?

The story behind the answer

In Pixar's Cars, the retired racer known as the Hudson Hornet is Doc Hudson.

Doc is the local physician and judge of Radiator Springs, but he once had a distinguished racing career. He competed as the Fabulous Hudson Hornet and won three Piston Cup championships. His racing number was 51, and his career was cut short after a serious crash left him overlooked by the racing world.

Doc initially dislikes Lightning McQueen because the young car's arrogance reminds him of the treatment he received after his own accident. Through Lightning's repair work and growing respect for the town, Doc gradually returns to the racing community as Lightning's crew chief.

The character is inspired by the real Hudson Hornet, a 1950s American automobile that achieved notable success in stock-car racing. Paul Newman provided Doc's voice in Cars, giving the character a calm, reflective personality.
