In Pixar's Cars, former Piston Cup champion Doc Hudson is secretly the town doctor. He lives in Radiator Springs and initially hides his racing past from Lightning McQueen.
Doc once competed as the Fabulous Hudson Hornet and won three Piston Cup championships. A serious crash ended his racing career, and he became bitter when the racing world moved on without him. His Hudson Hornet identity is eventually revealed through old newspaper clippings and town memories.
Doc's medical role reflects his changed life in Radiator Springs. He serves as the town judge and doctor, while also maintaining a private dirt-track area where he still enjoys driving. Paul Newman voiced Doc in the original film.
