In Pixar's Cars, which car is the former three-time Piston Cup champion?
Answer
Doc Hudson
Answer
Doc Hudson
Doc Hudson is the former three-time Piston Cup champion in Pixar's Cars.
Doc is a 1951 Hudson Hornet who lives in Radiator Springs and works as the town's doctor. Before settling there, he was a celebrated racer known as the Fabulous Hudson Hornet. The film reveals that his racing career ended after a crash and a period of being ignored by the racing world.
Doc initially resents McQueen's careless attitude because it reminds him of how the racing community treated older competitors. He eventually becomes McQueen's crew chief and teaches him that racing is not only about speed. Doc's past also explains the Hudson Hornet's distinctive status in the story.
Paul Newman provided Doc's voice in Cars and Cars 3. The character does not appear as a living participant in Cars 2, although his legacy remains important to McQueen and Radiator Springs. The King is also a champion, but he is a different racer.
