In Pixar's Cars, the number printed on Lightning McQueen is 95.
Lightning wears number 95 on his body, roof and racing equipment throughout the film. The number is commonly associated with Pixar's history because the first Toy Story was released in 1995, the year before Pixar's feature-film debut became a major cultural event.
Lightning begins as a rookie racer competing for the Piston Cup. His red paint, yellow lightning graphics and large number 95 form the character's most recognizable visual identity.
The number 43 belongs to The King, while Chick Hicks uses 86. Jackson Storm carries number 20 in Cars 3. Those nearby numbers can cause confusion when comparing the franchise's racers.
