In Pixar’s Cars, Dinoco is the racing sponsor that Lightning McQueen hopes to join.
Dinoco is one of the most prestigious sponsors in the Piston Cup, and its famous blue branding is associated with the veteran champion The King. Lightning sees a Dinoco contract as a major step toward becoming the sport’s biggest star.
At the end of the film, Dinoco offers Lightning a sponsorship after he chooses to help The King rather than focus only on winning. Lightning declines Dinoco’s request to replace Rust-eze immediately, but accepts the opportunity to use Dinoco’s helicopter as a reward.
Rust-eze is Lightning’s actual sponsor for most of the film, so the two brands are often mixed up. The Piston Cup is the championship trophy, not a sponsor.
