In Pixar's Cars, Chick Hicks causes the final crash involving The King.
Chick Hicks is Lightning McQueen's aggressive rival in the first Cars film. He is a green race car with the number 86 and competes for the Dinoco sponsorship during the Piston Cup season. Chick's racing style relies on contact and intimidation rather than the sportsmanship represented by The King.
During the final race, Chick deliberately bumps The King, sending the veteran racer into a dangerous crash. Lightning McQueen then stops short of victory to help The King reach the finish line, allowing Chick to win the race but damaging his reputation with the crowd.
Chick is voiced by Michael Keaton in the original English version. His number, 86, is a visual joke that can also suggest “86” as a slang expression meaning to remove or reject something. He is distinct from Jackson Storm, the high-tech antagonist introduced in Cars 3, and Francesco Bernoulli, McQueen's rival in Cars 2.
