In Pixar's Cars 3, Cruz Ramirez trains Lightning McQueen for his comeback.

Cruz is a yellow race technician and trainer at the Rust-eze Racing Center. She uses modern simulation technology and structured coaching to help Lightning prepare for competition against Jackson Storm and the newer generation of racers.

At first, Lightning and Cruz have different ideas about racing. Lightning wants to recover his old form, while Cruz has her own unrealized ambition to become a racer. Their partnership develops as both characters confront assumptions about age, talent, and opportunity.
