In Pixar's Cars 3, Jackson Storm is the primary next-generation rival who challenges Lightning McQueen.
Storm is a sleek, technologically advanced racer who rapidly dominates the Piston Cup season. His arrival makes Lightning confront the fact that veteran experience alone may not overcome the speed and data-driven training of the new generation.
Jackson Storm is designed with a dark blue-and-black appearance and is voiced by Armie Hammer. His confident, dismissive attitude makes him a clear contrast to the more reflective Lightning McQueen, whose career is entering a new phase.
The climax does not simply restore Lightning's old status. Cruz Ramirez takes over the race, defeats Storm, and begins her own championship career. Lightning then adopts a mentor role, using Doc Hudson's example to support the next generation.
