In Pixar’s Cars 3, who drives to victory in the final Florida 500 race?

Cruz Ramirez drives to victory in the final Florida 500 race in Pixar’s Cars 3.

Lightning McQueen initially enters the race against Jackson Storm, the dominant next-generation racer. After Lightning changes places with Cruz, she uses the skills he helped her develop and wins the race for Rust-eze Racing.

The victory gives Cruz a breakthrough as a competitive racer while allowing Lightning to move into a mentor role. Lightning remains central to the result, but he is not the driver who crosses the finish line first. This distinction is a common source of confusion because the race is also the culmination of Lightning’s personal and professional journey.
