Cruz Ramirez becomes the Rust-eze team's race driver at the Florida 500 in Pixar's Cars 3.
Cruz begins the film as Lightning McQueen's trainer at the Rust-eze Racing Center. Although she has racing ambitions, she initially lacks the confidence to pursue them after being discouraged by others.
During the Florida 500, McQueen gives Cruz the opportunity to race in his place. She uses her training and competitive ability to challenge Jackson Storm, while McQueen adopts the role of her crew chief.
The film's ending changes the public image of both racers: Cruz becomes a professional competitor, and McQueen continues racing while supporting her. Sally Carrera is McQueen's friend, not the driver at the event.
