In Pixar's Cars 3, which vehicle type is Jackson Storm?

Jackson Storm is a next-generation race car in Pixar's Cars 3.

He represents a new generation of highly advanced racers that use modern technology, intensive training, and data-driven performance. Storm's speed and dominance threaten Lightning McQueen, whose career began in an earlier era of Piston Cup racing.

The film uses the rivalry to explore aging, competition, and the transition between generations. Jackson is not simply a faster version of an ordinary stock car; his design and preparation are presented as products of a new racing system.

Jackson Storm is voiced by Armie Hammer. His black-and-blue appearance contrasts with Lightning's familiar red design. The film's central conflict eventually shifts from Lightning trying to outperform Storm directly to Lightning preparing Cruz Ramirez for the future of racing.
