In Pixar's Cars 3, which rival becomes Lightning McQueen's main opponent?

Jackson Storm becomes Lightning McQueen’s main opponent in Pixar’s Cars 3.

Storm represents a new generation of highly engineered racers. He is faster, younger, and supported by advanced training and simulation technology, making McQueen question whether experience can compete with modern racing science.

The story begins after Storm’s victories make older racers seem obsolete. McQueen’s attempt to return to the top leads him to train with Cruz Ramirez, whose abilities eventually become essential to the film’s resolution.

Jackson Storm is voiced by Armie Hammer. His sleek black-and-blue design contrasts with McQueen’s familiar red body, visually emphasizing the conflict between established fame and technological progress.
