Jackson Storm is the rookie sensation threatening Lightning McQueen in Pixar's Cars 3.
Storm represents a new generation of high-performance racers. His sleek design, advanced training and consistently fast results make older competitors appear outdated, and his rise begins the crisis that drives McQueen's story.
Armie Hammer provides Storm's voice. The character is deliberately contrasted with McQueen: Storm is confident in modern technology and data-driven preparation, while McQueen must rediscover the value of experience, teamwork and mentorship.
Jackson Storm is not the same racer as Chick Hicks, the antagonist from the first Cars. Francesco Bernoulli is the principal rival in Cars 2, and Cal Weathers is a veteran racer who appears in Cars 3 but is not the newcomer threatening McQueen's position.
