In Pixar's Cars 3, which race does Lightning McQueen enter to challenge Jackson Storm?

In Pixar's Cars 3, Lightning McQueen enters the Florida 500 to challenge Jackson Storm. The race is the film's climactic event and takes place at the fictional Florida International Super Speedway.

Lightning begins the film struggling against a new generation of faster racers led by Jackson Storm. After a training accident, he risks losing his place with the Rust-eze team. His preparation with Cruz Ramirez eventually gives him a different perspective on competition and on the future of racing.

The Florida 500 is especially important because Lightning does not finish the story by simply defeating the younger racer through speed alone. During the race, he makes a strategic decision that allows Cruz to take the spotlight. The event's name can be confused with the Dinoco 400 from the first Cars film, but the Florida 500 belongs specifically to Cars 3.
